EDM navigation

Just got my hands on an almost new Kenwood OEM navigation set out of a European 2008/09 Legacy.

Exactly like this:

attachment.php?attachmentid=43998&stc=1&d=1192223778

The good news:

- dual A/C working

- radio working

- display working

- navi working

- DVD working

The bad news:

- the info system on fuel, trip are not working :(

Got the whole car ('05 USDM GT) rewired this weekend, might consider the above functions as success, but really would like have it working perfectly.

The back of the main unit looks identical to the OEM STi '08 navi radio:

The 24 pin connector marked with a red circle on the left is a mystery to me. According to the pin-out, pin 6 and 18 are wired to CAN signals (CAN low and high). I am thinking of, the main unit gets the fuel and trip data through CAN (??) I had a look at the service manuals of my '05 USDM LGT's clock section, but didn't find anything related to CAN or OBDII...

Do we have CAN low and high signals I can acquire at the OBDII connector? Or should I try somewhere else? Anybody has access to EDM service manuals for 08/09 Legacy/Outback? Or maybe Kenwood service manuals?

Hello i have the same nav unit, but i cant find the pin out for the 12 pin connector on the back of the screen. Most of them go to the green plug on the back of the radio, but i need to know where the purple wire, the blue/red wire, the black/yellow, and the black/white wire goes.

Look for "subaru rear view cam adapter" (on aliexpress) with 8 pin plug if your wiring does not have it.

Or 8 pin plug:

1 pin - video signal

5 & 6 pins - ground

24pin plug should already contain backup light wire (brown/yellow) for reverse gear in pin 5.

small harness is for aftermarket rearview cam if your socket is empty.

big harness (more expensive) is for genuine rearview cam, which requires power (red wire) from headunit and your socket is not empty.

You can also purchase more expensive wiring but not use additional wires (red and black - but you have to isolate contacts).
