VroomVroom
Hi Great forum. I am a long time reader first time posting. I traded my 05 lgt 5EAT for 09 3.0r. I know with the turbo model when you got to the red line the enging power cuts out but on the 3.0r does it do the same or does it shift up to the next gear in tiptronic mode ? Thank you. ehsnils
I suspect that there is a rev limiter on the 3.0 too in case something goes wrong, but if you have the AT version (which I think is the only version sold in North America) it should change gear well before the red line. VroomVroom
Thank you, but I meant to say when driving in manual or tiptronic mode.
leggtnut
I think I read somewhere on here that they changed it at some point to do automatic upshifts at the rev limmiter in either 08 or 09. adidasoutback
Manual mode IS tiptronic mode, and yes it automatically upshifts in that mode, it will never hit red line, you could have simply went out and drove your car to tell you this LOL. ehsnils
Thank you, but I meant to say when driving in manual or tiptronic mode. The computer will take over anyway when you reach high enough. The manual mode is essentially only giving hints to the gearbox control.
AV8TORSADF
My experience has been around 5.5K RPM it upshifts whether you want it to or not.
