What is up with my "User CP"?

Recommended Posts

My "User CP" is messed up. Everytime I go there today, it's listing the same Daniel Stern thread that was last posted at 10:17 this am. I've had to thumb through the "NEW POSTS" to check for that silly little blue checkmark for any updates to threads I've subscribed to.

edit....oh, this'll be cute...I'll have to search "New Posts" to see if there are any replies to this one.... arg!

+1 on the subscribed threads. You just gotta make sure you subscribe to them. They'll also show up in your UserCP on top under "New Subscribed Threads:"

I always just click "Last Page" to clear them out. No biggie, it's almost habit :)

I treat my user cp like I treat my inbox. I cant stand to have "unread" flags.

one thing I like about this forum is when I post in a thread it subscribes me to it. A lot of forums I've been to you post and you dont subscribe. then I cant follow the conversation.

I normally dont go to those forums very often *cough*wrxatlanta*cough*

you can PROBABLY change that in user settings but why should I have to? Why would I want to post and NOT follow it?

UserCP > Edit Options > Default Thread Subscription Mode = "Instant E-mail Notification"

It's up to the Admin to set that option on the forum config. It's changeable by the user.

Thank you Nemo, darkfox & Tide.

So that's it, then, "VB is funny"? What you are suggesting Tide, is that I use Quick Links (which I just tried for the first time) and go to Subscribed Threads? I did that. It doesn't replace what used to be my Users CP.

If you're an organized, anal pile of flesh like myself, then you've made up folders to organize the subscribed threads (electrical, engine, suspension, brakes, etc, etc...no, I don't have 2 folders labeled "etc") which means I'd have to check in each of these folders to see if there have been any recent postings in those threads.

Pfft. My USERS CP used to show any and all of the threads that I have: 1. posted in (which have auto-subscribed me)

2. manually subscribed to

which have new postings.

Now I'm stuck on Daniel Stern's lighting thread...which I find annoyingly ironic since said Daniel Stern never returned any of my business emails looking to purchase from him.

Sub-par.

Sorry, nemo, didn't mean to capitalize your name in my #6 post. (I learned something today by reading your *cough* link).

Tide, what I mean by "used to" is that prior to Monday afternoon's mysterious glitch in my USER CP, whenever I clicked on USER CP, it would list/show/present me with the following:

1. threads I have manually subscribed to that have been added to since I've last viewed them

2. threads I have posted in (thereby automatically subscribing me) that have been added to since I've last viewed them

Currently, as of 1pm EST, this all seems to now be a moot point, as my USER CP is functioning as I so dearly remember it.
