lordhowe
I have a 09 Spec B and on the verge of buying a Magnaflow catback. I like the quality, 3" and best of all the price! 512 shipped from CVR Motorsports. I have had several exhaust on my wrx (2.5" borla, 3" Perrin, ended up going with a 3" Borla Hush). So I want to be sure that it's not too loud but not silent like the stock one. If i were to rate the 3 exhaust from above from 1 to 10 (10 being the loudest). 2.5" borla (7) 3" Perrin (9) 3" Borla (4) what would you guys rate the Maganaflows catback? PS. i have perrin catted down pipe.

BTW...you know it starts with a 2.5 neck then goes to 3" right? You can tame it with a third muffler as I and other members have done. rallyInspired
magnaflow is definitely on the loud end of the spectrum

HansGT
^ +1 its nasty. After 2 years with it, and now a longer commute....she had to be tamed a bit to make it livable.

GEE-OTTO
DynaMat and a third muffler I would use a Magnaflow round muffler but for more sound taming qualities used a full sized MagnaFlow like a 5" x 11" or a 4" x9". I have a magnaflow exhaust or will very soon on my 2.5i

lordhowe
finished the install last night and the sound is not too much louder than my borla 2.5" in my wrx. actually it's significantly quietly than my 3" perrin i had on my wrx. aside from sound, i really hated the 2.5" bottle neck... thanks
chicken n waffles
it's not as loud as my cobb tbe on my sti, but it definitely has more of a bass note.
RIPjeep2002
Love my Magnaflow. Just the right amount of noise and bass for me. Cannot wait to hear what it sounds like with a DP in the spring. =)
Bolksey85
A few months back I was out with a girl who told me "It's loud....It's really loud" to which I replied, "Yeah." Today I was hanging out with someone else (neither of whom are car people) and she made no reference to exhaust noise levels. We were able to talk at a normal volume at 65-70MPH. Guess it depends on how sensitive you are to noise levels. And FYI, I might have 5-6 months time on this exhaust and it sounds sooooooooo good right now. BoozeRS05
Stg 1, catless UP, stock DP and magnaflow cb, which sounds amazing imo. I'd call this setup a 5-6 b/c its a nice deep rumble. Just got my crucial shorty today, and imagine it will be a little louder, maybe too loud for my tastes unfortunately. Power4
It definitely does depend on how sensitive you are to sound. I have the Magnaflow cat-back on my '09 LGT and I'd say it's a around a 5 or 6 as well. Certainly "loud" for a mid-size sedan but as far as sporty cars go it's not that loud. My other car is a Mustang GT with a Borla exhaust which is significantly louder so maybe I'm just too used to that?

Tedesco
i have the magnaflow and i think it isn't loud by any means. i would give it a 5 out of 10. it is quieter than my wrx's greddy evo catback and hks downpipe/w cat. there is very minimal drone and it fits really well. it has great looking tips too. for the price, this exhaust is a steal! subimods.com has them for $575 shipped. great customer service and fast shipping. here are some pics. sorry, no sound clips. http://www.tedescophoto.com/09/legrear3.jpg http://www.tedescophoto.com/09/legrear2.jpg
