1-3-2-4
Yesterday we had rainfall of 1 inch an hour.. Ok.. so I head out to work this morning and I noticed the car kind of stumble on start up.. it idled ok.. backed out of the parking space and went to pull out to leave and the car stalled.. and threw a code.. I went to scan the code and it would keep giving me no codes found.. So I managed to get the car to start again and I scanned while running and I got two codes: P0505 and P0105 also I noticed if I have the car in ACC or On some relays are clicking like crazy someplace under the dash.. And as I pulled the scanner plug out and proceeded to exit the car I saw puddles of water behind the drivers seat! and out of curiosity I went to check the passenger side and the area was damp in that area as well! did the ECU get damp? *edit I got two more codes that it spit out.. P0340 P0120 edit added youtube video [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSxo3rLHn-4]YouTube - Not running[/ame]

I don't know if it can be saved.. http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/8765/dsc9752m.jpg http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/8885/dsc9755.jpg
1-3-2-4
Good news!! I blow dried the ECU and let it sit for two hours and plugged it back into the car and hooked the battery cable up.. at first it stumbled but it ran like normal no CEL's just the ABS light is still on (don't know where the control unit is in here) I'm revealed now.. now I can go drive and get this wet vac to use. eekay
Wow! That water got WAY high! Bummer to hear about the ECU getting wet. Not sure how long it'll last after it has had a short. Although, if the car is running fairly normally now, it shouldn't be too big of a deal. I would highly recommend getting another ECU as soon as you have the spare cash though. You don't want that thing to kick the bucket 100 miles from home... My 9.3 cups EJ22 makes me feel like my **** is 2.8 decimeters!
1-3-2-4
Yeah I'm going to do a few tests as well I can always pick up a ECU cheaply anytime. man the thicker mat that the ECU bracket rests on was soaked with water. The wet vac seems to be doing a good job sucking the water and dampness out.
eekay
That sucks. Hopefully all is well after the suck-n-dry period. I'm sure you'll be fine for a while at least. Are the ECU's you have access to new or factory refurbs or what? My 9.3 cups EJ22 makes me feel like my **** is 2.8 decimeters!

eekay
Ah. Shouldn't be an issue finding one then. Let us know how everything turns out. My 9.3 cups EJ22 makes me feel like my **** is 2.8 decimeters!
1-3-2-4
just trying to pull the carpet up now.. the bolts for the seats the one in the rear on the drive shaft tunnel due to old age (tried to remove them before but they snapped) are a PITA to remove.. I did get the drivers seat out but shit I think it took something like 120 Ft. LB of me pulling to finally get the bolt out.. going to soak these things in PB blaster! 1-3-2-4
Yes Sir! and Dremel! I finally just decided to cut the bolt off that I never could removed.. also I took the ABS module out and just as I expected water got inside as well.. the carpet is removed and I'm going to put the seats back in for now.. I think 3 days with no carpet is good for it to dry out inside.. while I have the carpet out I might as well shampoo it as well.
eekay
Yup. A good shampooing certainly wouldn't hurt. Bummer about the ABS module. Is it toast or can it be salvaged? My 9.3 cups EJ22 makes me feel like my **** is 2.8 decimeters!

eekay
Much better. Carpet looks like it came out pretty clean considering the circumstances. Is the ABS unit going to be put back in or are you going to just go get a replacement? My 9.3 cups EJ22 makes me feel like my **** is 2.8 decimeters! I think I need to clean out the IAC all that stumbling when this first happened seems to have caused some gunk.. I hear the best way is to open it up.. however I need to get a new gasket as well

1-3-2-4
only thing wrong is lol I think the bolt stripped to hold the back seat down I got one in but the other does not seem to want to go in.. I was just happy to get the carpet in within around 40 min that's including removing the seats and putting everything back plus the clips and the seats. I still think my XM direct box got killed in action we will see.. if so I planned on getting a new head unit anyways which would require a new unit anyways.
