sactojesse
Boys buy the WRX. Men buy the LegacyGT wagon. Fixed. Since there is no 09 LGT wagon, I'd go w/ an 09 WRX 5-door over an 09 LGT sedan.
jjwink
Is that the common consensus that the LGT is roughly $100 cheaper per 6 months to insure? Obviousl rates and discounts and companies vary by person, but that sounds like a good number. My guess its not the power or safety but rather the driver statistics that make most of that difference. That would help me partially justify the $3000 difference. $200/year times 5 years is $1000. So my net gap is down to $2000. Besides heated seats? What other features are an added plus with the LGT? Honestly, almost all cars now come with the same features that you'd want. From a mercedes to a ford, you can still get air/leather/nav/etc. You're thinking too hard about this. Go drive both, and see what you like better. To me, the overall look, fit, and finish of the legacy is so much better than the WRX that it's not even a question. How old are you? At age 29, I'd be embarrassed to pick up a girl or client in a WRX. Oversized hood scoop, spoiler, etc. It just screams kiddy car. It's a shame though, because they are great cars. jjwink
Almost 33 and married. Not worried about picking up a client. Hood scoop isn't too big unless you get the STI. I do like that the LGT hits strong torque sooner (2000RPM) as compared to the WRX (4000RPM). Since as DD my shifts are generally at 4000 or before, if nothing happens until 4000 it's definitely a waste.
scoobydoobie
^Keep in mind the WRXs are no longer 2.0 liter. Performance wise they will be pretty simlilar.
Mr. Ed
09 lgt specb definately...my 08 wrx purchase was the worst car decision i have ever made. performance wise you have the same potential either way you go. comfort level of the lgt can't be beaten
markc0220k
depend on how old you are and where you are living or you would drive around the most! remember, a turboed cas is very diff from NA ... so, one more question, how often you WOT? what i'm trying to say is... if you barely floor your gas padel, the rest of "speed" is what you are actually enjoying - 9x HK speakers/amp, on dash subwoofer, VDC, less wind-noise from mirror, momo steering wheel, SI drive, Bilstein suspenion, Torsen LSD, 18' rims, aero ground effect .... how do i know? I just bought my 09 spec B instead of 09 WRX 2 months ago! mark ps: i'm 34y/o, single, had driven miata (NA8C) x10yrs with lots of mods..), working at hospital and master degree, living at Texas - hot summer and 75-78% freeway.. SubieChik
We have both.....well not an '09 LGT.....but you get it. I LOVE them both. I get more compliments on my car though Since my husband is deployed and my car was in the shop I have been driving his. It is quick and takes turns extremely well. IMO the hatch looks better and I wouldn't consider an '08.....I'm sure the '08 owners are pissed I can't pick one.......hmm.....just get both
lookslikeanevo
Both are white and manual which was a must for me and they both are right around the same price. if anyone can give me a non-bias option..haha on which would be the better choice that would be great. im aware that this is a legacy fourm but there are benfits and disadvantages to both cars. so any thoughts on the subject are greatly appricated! what where? 09 lgt white manual? hmmm Current:MY05 SWP wagon - 253/290 UP, AEM CAI, Invidia Q300, tuned@yimisport OLD: MY06 GRP - 274/
lookslikeanevo
I went from WRX to LGT to STi so what does that make me? Lol. I think "whipped" men buy LGT's Can't justify the STi to their wife so they buy a family sedan. Both are good but I disagree with that statement. its actually the lack of sunroof Current:MY05 SWP wagon - 253/290 UP, AEM CAI, Invidia Q300, tuned@yimisport OLD: MY06 GRP - 274/
