FocuS
Try CD2 Engine Detailer...it's kinda hard to find but makes the bay shine with minimal effort...
atcvader
Can I use it on everything. Ie.. Rubber, plastic, metal. Thanks
c-lo
i use diluted simple green. spray on and mist off. careful where you point the hose, usually try to keep it away from anything electrical. 258k miles - Stock engine/minor suspension upgrades/original shocks/rear struts replaced at 222k/4 passenger side wheel bearings/3 clutches/1 radiator/3 turbos
FocuS
The CD2 stuff can be used on everything including the engine and radiator (or so it says)...It claims to create a resin that resists grease and dirt...I think it's just a tougher armour-all compound...thus I don't risk it on the radiator or IC! Make sure to cover any belts or electrical before you spray! Diluted Simple Green works well as a cleaner but not too well as a shine component. I like the CD2 cause it can do both... My .02... c-lo
yeah, I'm not so worried about shining the engine compartment. i just like it clean. out of curiosity though what type of residue does the CD2 leave on? does dirt adhere to it like when you apply tire dressing to tires? 258k miles - Stock engine/minor suspension upgrades/original shocks/rear struts replaced at 222k/4 passenger side wheel bearings/3 clutches/1 radiator/3 turbos

FocuS
It actually dries much like a resin rather then having a sheen of oil on it. I think it may actually help your engine bay stay cleaner since dust won't stick as well...but I may have been snowed by their claims...
