What goes into ECU learning?

I see ECU learning as 3 different things.

1. IAM settling to 1 aka rough correction...assuming the tune is good this should take 20 seconds of driving.

2. The ECU learning where you knock and proactively pulling timing in those regions..aka fine learning knock correction. |This usually takes about 100 miles tops.

3. The ECU learning the fuel trims..this too takes about 100 miles or less with mixed driving. What goes on in this scenario is the ecu tries to hit a 14.7 afr during cruise..if it does not hit the target it adds or removes fuel until it does. It is continually applying a correction within certain MAF ranges.

So according to my tuner, I have a "lazy" oxygen senor...as in, my AF ratios when logging my car are "laggy" compared to other LGT's. It isn't throwing any codes though, but it feels like it's learning some hesitation. Could the O2 sensor be causing this? And is it the UP sensor or DP that provides an input to AF ratio?

The front one is the main one, and it's probably what he was referring to. But you should ask just to be sure.

Funny things happen to cars with the rear sensor removed, so if your rear sensor is acting up, funny stuff still gonna happen.
