Local to home I have an excellent shop (EFI logics) but I found a used LGT that I want to look at in Randolph, MA area... can't exactly drive it 2.5 hours one way to get checked out. I am decent mechanically, but not a subaru expert. Other issue is it will probably be a saturday.

Where did you find this car? Dealer? Private sale?

Not sure I have time to look, nor do I think I'd be the best person on this board to do so, but posting a few details may help.

Private, 05 GT limited, auto, 34k, Regal blue on black, right price, no accidents (need to carfax check). Supposedly selling because they have another newer Scub and need a truck. No one steal it plz:lol:

If you are unsure I can tell you that there's a board member that has a car around me (framingham) that was offering a smoking deal in my opinion on his 5EAT blue car.. mileage is a lot higher though..

Really want under 45k

I work in Randolph and will gladly check it out for you (general inspection) Not mechanically but visual and ride quality. I have 2 LGT's 05 and 06 both moded so I do have some knowledge

Let me know

I'll pm, might save me 2.5 hour one way drives to find out their "mint" is more like "poo"

If you want a shop to check it out thoroughly, DSG is probably your best option if it's modded at all. Have the present owner bring it there....you contact DSG and arrange for payment of the checkout.....you don't even have to go there.

Good Luck with it.....LGT's are great cars. Oh wait...I'm on LGT now....

Clay Subaru in Norwood (my favorite dealership) .

I bought my car at Clay last month and the sales manager I dealt with was fantastic. Their service/detailing department left a lot to be desired. I felt like they did the bare minimum to get by versus going the extra mile.

The person that detailed my car left dirt on the dash, between the seat and in places like door and trunk gaps there was like sand/mud. I detailed my car properly. Also, the day I was taking delivery the TPMS came on and I asked the sales guy. They simply put air in it versus checking it out and on the way home it came on again. I had to go back the next day to have it checked out. They found a sensor to be faulty. When I got home I found they'd left some chemical/grease on my wheels and I had to really scrub them clean.

All this means to me they do shoddy work and don't value my time or my $. I'll try servicing it there for my first service but if I see the same shoddy work I'll take my business some where else.

I've had my 2005 and 08 WRX's services at Clay. Excellent work. They have happily fixed all of my OCD warranty claims, and legitimate ones. Offered me loaner cars if the repair took longer than 2 hours and I could call any day and make an oil change for that same day.

The Service people are very friendly. I have nothing but the highest regard for the dealership.

Now, detailing work, I have no idea was this PDI? TPMS is just related to air pressure so fixing that is the easiest repair. The chemical grease was it gray and by the lug nuts? That is 100% normal.

Yes, it was PDI.

Yes, fixing the TPMS is easy and that is my point, if it came on during the delivery instead of just putting air in it check them out instead of making me come back the next day again. Or worse, if I did have a flat on a brand new car I'm taking delivery of then I'd have been stuck road side on the way home.

Yes, it was gray but not only on the lug nuts, it was one three of my four wheels in several places.

Yes, everyone is very friendly but I'd rather they not be friendly and take care of me and my car right the first time and not make me come back several times for things that could be taken care of the first time. It's called good customer service :-)

Whats up with the car.

It looked good on the link you sent.

Hope it works out

I found a few vehicles to look at, so I'm just going to head up myself. Thanks for the offer! There is also a board member that knows the car and gave me some input.

Edit: someone helped me out with the carfax

Also, the owner said it will take 3 weeks for his lien to clear and send the title to him, is this a normal amount of time? The only other lien vehicle I bought was held by a local credit union so it was on hand as soon as funds cleared (few days).
