blk99camaro
I am looking into getting a roof rack to carry around our two Kayaks, we have 2 wilderness system kayaks one is 12ft and the other is 14ft. I'm a little cautious as I feel that the kayaks are quite a bit of strain to put on the LGT/roof rack when traveling, but should I be worried? I don't want them to blow off or something crazy like that. I don't want to damage the car in anyway, is there a good system that you could take off and not even tell it was there? Are there any certain models or features I should look for? Can someone take pictures of how the rack mounts to the LGT's? Thanks Jon
Aczwild
I dont have any pics of my 13ft Old Town Cayuga on, but here's how my Thule mounts http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y272/Aczwild/IMG_3381.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y272/Aczwild/IMG_3385.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y272/Aczwild/IMG_3384.jpg You can easily fit two in that config, one on either side of the car. If I can find my camera, I'll get a pic of it on my '96 Wagon (its currently holding the kayak) JDM'd All to hell Thanks Jimmy @ Hkc-Speed.com! Aczwild
Forgot to say, the Thule Kayak holders are mounted with two bolts, which require no tools, so it would take 5 mins tops (if you were holding a beer in one hand, drinking it) to remove the holders and if you really want the rack off it would take no more than 10 mins to remove the whole thing JDM'd All to hell Thanks Jimmy @ Hkc-Speed.com! captainmorgan
I have a set of Yakima Kayak Stackers for Sale if you're interested. I also have the hully rollers and mako saddles. What ended up working for me (having two Perception 13.5' kayaks) was the Hull Raisers. They fit in well with the Skybox Pro 16 that I had.
