Legdude
Im about to throw a set of sti bbs's on my 07 spec B. The car has the stock springs, bilstine shocks/struts and stock 18's. Now, I know this will look like a monster truck with the stock suspension so what's a good all around lowering spring to close the fender gap? I drive this car daily and dont want to slam it on the ground, but do want this to look good wit hthe 17's. I don't have the funds for coil overs so thats out'a the question. I've checked around here and found good feedback on the Eibach pro kit, good ride and doesn't slam it to the ground. I figure this with the bilstine's it should be pretty damn good, right? Also, if you running sti bbs's on your leg shoot me some feed back, and yes I have whored around on the sti bbs thread but notice most of them are running coil overs. Paisan
I run STi Pink Springs on my 05 LGT with my BBS Wheels. Pics at http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=109651 -mike
peteyjr
You can buy my swift springs that I just took off my leggy. They lower around 2" Stragely enough I did it for exactly the opposite reason as you (went from 17" stockers on my LGT to 18" spec B rims and tires). With the spec B top hat it won't lower as much. Legdude
Im actually selling my spec B wheels and picking up a set of gold bbs's this friday. Let me do some research on the swifts and get back to yha
peteyjr
I love BBS rims . I have a local Spec B owner in my autocross club interested in them but he wants to stay stock for the rest of the season (DS). He told me he did research and would work well since they are wagon specific which have slightly stiffer/taller rear springs but would work best with the 1/4 to 1/2 rear spacers made from another member here (or Nasioc I believe). Anyway letting them go for a very resonable price.
Paisan
The BBS rims are forged and VERY strong with a relatively light weight. They are probably the best sub $1000 set of rims you can buy for your car. There are some rims in the $3500 price range that are wider/lighter and just as strong but that's a lot of coin. I have 2 sets (Summer and winters) -mike

Even though there gold and my car is DGM, the color combo will be some what questionable to some but I like and thats all that matters. Plus, I don't look at Subaru's as " show " cars with big wheels, even the stock 18's wheren't really my style. I think on a certain level all subarus can be track day cars to some, well all but the tribeca.
Paisan
Also 17" tires are a lot less expensive than 18" and anyone who goes to the track knows you'll eat up tires eventually -mike
Legdude
yeah tell me about it, for the price of a shitty 18 All Season you can get a nice 17 drag radial.
mikeislord
Weren't you trying to sell your car, Legdude? What happened to that?
Legdude
yes I was, but due to moving I don't have the funds to support a new truck. Plus, like i said, if it goes it goes, if it doesn't it doesn't. Anyway, what tires should I get? Im picking up the bbs's monday and they all need tires. Thinking maybe something like a 245 or 255 for my summer / track set, will they rub?
MauiJim
I've got iON Sport Specs w/ HD rears (for the wagon's extra weight)- I really like them paired with Koni's. Your SpecB came with Bilsteins, correct? I think they'd pair well, but maybe use just the regular Sport Specs in the rear. Here's my wagon with +50 17x8s, with 245/40R17 Falken 452 (which I also really like): http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v230/MauiJim/IMG_9519_edit.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v230/MauiJim/IMG_9522_edit.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v230/MauiJim/IMG_9511_edit.jpg

I run 225-45-17 on my BBS and I can't go much wider. I'd say run 225-45-17s or 235-40-17. Also on the BBS you can't go much wider than 225 without getting rollover. They aren't wide enough. -mike
peteyjr
I think Mike (Paisan) is on the $. 225-235 will work best . I used tohave the 04 STI's on my wrx but stupidly sold them. Beautiful ride Muaijim . I have the exact same setup as you: Koni's/Ions/Falken FK 452's (except 17" Kuhmo's for track)
Legdude
Here yha go http://i41.tinypic.com/mj4imf.jpg Check out that sexy fender gap. Im going to do springs and sways at the same time. 25 up front 22 in the rear? I do plan on doing some SCCA events and would like to get this thing handling stout and not like a top heavy truck. peteyjr
I'll vouch for the IONs springs. Just had my first autocross in them today(along with Koni dampers). They rode great. I miss the sexiness of the Swifts but the extra travel is welcome.

Cool. Let us know if we can help you out. I run Pinks and Konis for track events and they are absolutely gorgeous. Drove it back to back with a stock specB stage 2 this past weekend, and despite me being 80hpish lower, I was out running the spec B 2 seconds per lap. -mike
legacy604
Hey Legdude, I have a stock spec B as well and about to get some springs with with about an inch drop. Eibach prokit is on my list too. Let me know how it turn out. Thanks
