95 Legacy passenger door

Recommended Posts

Just a question.. I never knew it until I had a passenger in the car one day.. If you unlock the passenger door should it unlock all doors like the driver's side?

The driver's side unlocked all the other doors.

No. The 3 other doors (and hatch on a wagon) unlock and lock with the driver's door. The passenger can't lock or unlock all the doors like on newer subarus. Which IMO is better...

On my car, any of the inside switches for lock/unlock will lock/unlock all doors. While using the key, though, only the door that I use the key in will unlock. Kinda annoying, I wish it would unlock the driver and passenger's side when I turn the key on driver's side. Same for locking, locking the driver's side with the key will not lock any other doors. '99 LGT here, by the way.

That is because the '99 had the remote unlock. So all the other doors no longer unlock with the driver's door

my car has Lo Jack installed however not knowing that I think I ripped the alarm speaker out and I took the LED out from one of the blank pockets on the dash...

however it seemed to have some aftermarket alarm as well...

I'm not paying the $150+ or whatever to have the Lo Jack checked out...

however it can't be too hard to find the location of the Lo Jack in the car..

But anyways what bugs me the most is I have to wait for the passenger to close the door so I can lock it.. As you know most of the mid 90's Japanese car's you need to hold up the door handle so the lock wont unlock again.

Most people forget so I have to wait and wait if they are slow getting out of the car.

I don't think the 95 came with a keyless remote option?

Mine does that too.

But only on the passenger side. I don't need to do the door handle thing on the driver's side. Is your car like that? I have been wondering for a while if it is normal.

yeah I need to hold the handle up on the driver's side as well so it will lock.

I always hated that i guess you call "feature"

Ok, it makes sense if it does it on the passenger's door, it should do it on the driver's door too. Mine doesn't do the handle thing on the driver's door... weird..

Funny thing is I'm reading the manual now and it does not say anything about the passenger side door at all.. It just talks about having to hold up the driver's side door but the rear door you can close normal without having to hold the handle up...

Heh, yeah. I have the module for it under the dash but the guy I bought my car from never gave me a clicker. I really need to get one sometime...

Not sure how expensive they are from the stealership or wherever you'll have to go to get them, but I still have my stock remotes for my '99 LGT that I'd be more than willing to give you if you pay shipping (don't quote me just yet though, I need to make sure I can find them first :) )

My 9.3 cups EJ22 makes me feel like my **** is 2.8 decimeters!
