'09 with H/K - Changing H/U & Bypass H/K Amp.

2.5 Stick

Thanks for the info. Just installed the Pioneer sub and it barely fits into the slot. I cut and used the metal bracket from the OE sub for a direct fitment by keeping with the 3 screws. Though I'm getting some rattling so I'll be adding sound deadening material in the back.

In terms of sound though I would say it's comparable to the stock sub? Doesn't hit as hard as another sub (Pyle 8", standard depth), I might try fitting that in the slot. Can't use the cover though.

Anyone had success connecting an amp in parralell with the front or rear speaker outputs from the stock head unit? Just wondering if it sounded ok and IF I should use front or rear doing this. The thought was to add a Rockford mono amp and drive it with the high level inputs to the amp. A duel 12" sub box is going in the back.

I replaced the factory amp with a Kenwood eXelon x801.5 amp using factory wiring/connectors. (minus the power/ground and a seperate out to the rear sub).

It sounded pretty good. That said, I recently installed an Android based replacement headunit in the navigation cubby... this comes with a 32 band eq and has it's on speaker level outputs thats now feeding the amp... the setup has never sounded better.

This thread was INVALUABLE in helping me replace the HK amp that died, especially with the pinouts and the plugs to tie into the factory wiring.  I figured I may as well go all the way and do the whole JDM dash kit and put the radio in the proper place.

I didn't see anything related to the 24 pin plug but I found something on ebay that worked for me, just had to do my own pinning.

The 10 pin (use the larger of the two)

and 12 pin

plugs I ordered.  I used these to connect my alpine amp for the doors and tweeters.  I have yet to do something about a subwoofer but so far it sounds excellent as is with everything factory but the radio and amp.

I used this to retain SWC (which worked amazingly, just connect the proper wires and it programs itself)

and lastly, this to retain the aux plug in the arm rest
