(Security System) Randomly disabled now ??

A quick question,

 

Car has been working fine for years now. 2005 XT, and just yesterday, the remote keyless entry, security system and the remote starter on the car... does not work anymore. ??

 

I tried another fob/transmitter and it does the same. Ive ruled out that the possibillty of battery problems, or etc.

 

But every button on both fobs do not work/do anything.

 

the guys in my garage said that randomly a few weeks ago, at night, my car had the alarm go off unexpectdly and the garage guys ran upstairs to put the key in the transmission.

 

is there any advice you can give me?

ok.. i followed these steps on cars101.com... and it shows AL_ON .. so i opened up my transmitters to reincode them and i dont see any serial # there at all

Activate or Deactivate/set Valet the alarm.

1. Sit in the driver's seat and shut all doors and rear gate etc

2. Cycle the ignition switch from LOCK to ON three times within 10 seconds, leave it in the ON position.

3. Within 10 seconds open and close the driver's door.

4. The current setting (on or off) will be displayed in the odometer/trip meter screen. It will say 'AL on' or 'AL off'

Before you do anything why not to replace the batteries in both fobs: one can be down because you used it for too long and the other self drained (four years!?)

My security system now goes off when almost any other car's remote is used near my car. Ideas?

 

And, the key fob works when it wants to. I've replaced the battery with no improvement in its operation. Should I get a new one or just learn to lock/unlock manually?
