ERLoft
So, installed a new Defi Racer boost gauge this weekend. Went pretty well - it was replacing a Prosport gauge, so it was pretty straightforward. However, same as my Prosport gauge, I wasn't able to find a wire that supplied +12v when the headlights/parking lights are on. Seems that the wires coming off the combination switch (light/turn signal stalk) are +12v when the lights are off, the go to +0v when they're on. I was able to find two wires that are +12v when the low beams are on, but they go to +0v when the high beams are on. I know most of you have been able to use the clock illumination wire, but as I have a Spec B with nav, I don't have the clock. I would imagine that the wiring is still present though, so can someone post up a picture of what the connector to the back of the clock looks like so I can see if it's present in my car? Alternately, if anyone knows of a specific wire that's +12v when the parking lights/low beams/high beams are on, I'd be happy to find it on my car! ERLoft
C'mon now - no one has a picture of what the power connector for your clock/trip computer looks like? 2013 █S4 - Glacier White - DSG - B&O - Tech Package - Sports Diff - Napa - RS4 Grille - Stasis Exhaust - APR Intake - KW Variant 1 - Stern Control Arms - CR-15 - Stasis RSB - Moog Endlinks - PC Hyper Black Peelers - Deval Front Lip - ECS Rear Diffuser - Carbon Imports Ducktail - ECS Mirror Caps - Relak Paddle Extensions - Autostyle Floor Mats - LED Interior - V1 - Blackvue DR900s - [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
qikslvr
Just use the power from the bulb that lights the roof of the cubby hole. It only comes on when the light are turned on. Let's kick this pig!
ERLoft
I don't have a cubby. Spec B's have the satnav systems instead. That's why I'm asking for help... 2013 █S4 - Glacier White - DSG - B&O - Tech Package - Sports Diff - Napa - RS4 Grille - Stasis Exhaust - APR Intake - KW Variant 1 - Stern Control Arms - CR-15 - Stasis RSB - Moog Endlinks - PC Hyper Black Peelers - Deval Front Lip - ECS Rear Diffuser - Carbon Imports Ducktail - ECS Mirror Caps - Relak Paddle Extensions - Autostyle Floor Mats - LED Interior - V1 - Blackvue DR900s - [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
qikslvr
How about the wire to the ring on the cig. lighter? Let's kick this pig!
lgtftw
Got a boost gauge yesterday, it came with a connector from the Dimming switch to the left of the steering wheel. Maybe you can jump it from there.
ERLoft
Might have been a thought. I ended up removing the nav screen and using my multimeter to figure out which wire controlled the dimming there and tapped off of that. Works fine now. 2013 █S4 - Glacier White - DSG - B&O - Tech Package - Sports Diff - Napa - RS4 Grille - Stasis Exhaust - APR Intake - KW Variant 1 - Stern Control Arms - CR-15 - Stasis RSB - Moog Endlinks - PC Hyper Black Peelers - Deval Front Lip - ECS Rear Diffuser - Carbon Imports Ducktail - ECS Mirror Caps - Relak Paddle Extensions - Autostyle Floor Mats - LED Interior - V1 - Blackvue DR900s - [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
