My wheels are XXR style 518's Matte Black/Redline. They are also available in a gold color very similar to the STi gold wheels.

 

My company sells the wheels and tires, does anyone know how I can become a vendor on this site?

Cool, I'll have perfect before/after pics regarding the Cobb springs by the end of next week, including clearance measurements for the SPT midpipe.

Are the stock struts on the GTs the same for the 2.5i? After reading this tread, I'm interested in throwing the Eibachs on my are for an affordable ride height change.

 

Where to get my hands on those springs as well?

Site says the only springs for the 2.5N/A are the H&Rs.

 

Does anybody know if there truly is a difference between the struts on the GT and the N/A?

 

And if so, any recommendations for the non GT setup?

 

Also... when using the springs with the stock struts, is anybody using the "recommended alignment kit"? Or just replace the springs and good to go?

why don't you go to http://www.eibach.com and ask them what they recommend for your model car. you would sure think they would know.

 

Cobb's way too much drop for the roads i drive on.

 

took my car to a local tire shop i have dealt with for 20 years it was aligned with no issues at all the car perfect. not sure why you would need the kit for a street car.

Lol, the roads I typically drive on are pretty badly beat up from the salt and winter, but I'm gonna chance it on the Cobb springs. They go on tonight, so we'll see how it goes. I should have comparison pics and measurements up by Friday night.

I am not running the alignment kit from the TireRack. I let the car settle for 10 days and then went to the dealer for an alignment. If I get any bump steer issues in the future I will likely install the Whiteline roll center & bemp steer kit, but for now I have had no need for it.

I have a Spec B with the stock USDM Bilstein shocks. Will the drop be the same if I go with Eibach springs? I've done a search but didn't seem to find anyone with this set up.

 

I see that Rallitek advertised that their springs has less drop on the

spec B compare to the GT? Is this also true with Eibach prokit? Does anyone know why there is a differece?

I just put 20 miles on my new Cobb springs and have three words: sex_on_wheels! I'm honestly still completely blown away at the performance. They are SOO SMOOTH! No harsh ride at all whatsoever. After 15 miles I went to a notoriously sh*tty railroad crossing and nailed it at 40 mph: no bang, no creak, no abusive feedback at all. They just rolled right over the gaps in the road and following bump. The drop is quite honestly extreme though. When the lift was coming down I was like, "ok that's stock, oh that's nice, that's nicer, oh my, oh sh*t!, damn this thing dropped!!!" Numbers . . .

 

Bottom of wheel well arch to shop floor:

Front stock: 26.5"

Rear stock: 25.75"

Front Cobb unsettled right after coming off lift: 25 3/8"

Rear Cobb unsettled right after coming off lift: 25 5/8" (yes, the rear was actually higher than the front)

Front Cobb settled in after 2K miles: 25"

Rear Cobb settled in after 2K miles: 25 1/8"

 

Stock SPT midpipe to shop floor: 4 7/8" (bounced the mid-pipe off the street twice on stock suspension)

Cobb springs SPT midpipe to shop floor: 4 1/2" (haven't hit the mid-pipe on the street yet after 5K miles)

 

The body roll was reduced drastically as well. I used my same favorite on-ramp to gauge this:

Stock suspension: epic body roll, squealing RE92's at 50 mph

Perrin 22mm sways+endlinks, both set to soft on RE92's: no whining tires, slight lean at 55 mph

Sways+endlinks set to front stiff, rear soft, Cobb springs, RE92's: no whining tires, flat cornering at 65 mph

(addition): Sways+endlinks set to front stiff, rear soft, Cobb springs, Bridgestone RE960AS: flat sticky cornering at 70+ mph

 

. . . So far I say two big thumbs up! :) Pics coming Friday!

i really like the ride of this setup so far. no real chance to check out how they handle the canyons yet. hopefully this weekend. i might add some saggy butt shims but i'm not sure. sometimes it looks fine and other times it looks like the rear is sagging.

I also have a depressing problem now . . . when the car went up on the lift to get an alignment Friday I noticed that my SPT exhaust piping and sway bar were REALLY close. They used to be about an inch apart, no longer. It's more like at rest they're 1/8" apart and when I hit a bump they rub. As a ghetto temporary fix I wrapped a little header wrap around the swaybar and ziptied both ends tight. This Thursday it's going back to my local aftermarket shop to see if the exhaust can be moved at all.

There's a guy selling 08 Spec.B oem shock and spring. He's asking about 700$CAD.

 

Wondering if I'll be lower with that ? I wish to be at ~1 to 1.5" lower (Like the Cobb pics ^)

 

Else, I was looking at Eibach... but on OEM or new shock ? OEM are good ?

No, you'll actually be riding higher on the Spec B suspension. As for the dampers, the OEM dampers/shocks are pretty awful. As for springs, the Eibach would probably be a good choice from what I've heard from others.

 

PS If you decide to do a spec B damper/spring swap, you're gonna need the spec B top hats as well.

Lookin' good, Captain. Well, minus the sway bar and exhaust getting friendly with each other. Ride height looks very nice. I thought Cobb honestly sat lower than that, almost to the point of too low but it looks just about right on your car.
