phenryiv1
If I grab an RSB from a SpecB, what do I need, in addition to the bar itself? Endlinks? Brackets? Bushings? Also, is the SpecB bar any different frmo the LGT bar? Patrick Looking for spacers or adapters to install aftermarket speakers in the doors of your Legacy? mwiener2
AFAIK, the LGT and SpecB have the same RSB. Go JDM, yo My Mods List (Updated 8/22/17) 2005 Outback FMT Running on Electrons
phenryiv1
$40 shipped for an LGT/SpecB is good enough for me... Underdog
The GT/Spec.B RSB is 16mm, only 1mm larger than the 2.5i bar, and still vastly undersized for the weight of the car. I can't imagine the difference in body roll being worth even $40... but hey, it's your cash. The Crimson Dynamo
phenryiv1
I thought it was 19mm, for some reason. Nevermind. shtbxr22
pretty sure JDM is 19mm. if your going from 2.5i to gt or spec B, you should just bolt it in. 1 mm won't affect the bushings, and the links should be the same. originally I went from a 15 to 16 without needing anything else. now at 25mm
BrownBoy
JDM originated at 20mm; they made the bar smaller over the years.
OhBe1
But the JDM 20mm is hollow; I think about equivalent of 18mm solid, just lighter. And the 1mm difference getween 15 & 16 should be noticeable (did that before going to the JDM 20). But then ours is an Outback. 06LOB2.5i MT, JDMRSB, GYTTs, HPS, LGT Mufflers & Leather Wheel, SubiMomo Knob, Inalfa Moonroof, Clutch Switch Bypass, DeDRLd, DeChimed, & Straight Headrest. THE RZA
hah, i went from 16 to 22/19mm such a big differance
blaze741
did you notice any difference with the RSB on? I'm debating on swapping my 2.5i RSB with a GT one as you can get them for next to nothing. How was the install? Bolt off and bolt new one on correct? no need to jack car up?
phenryiv1
Holy thread ressurection... As for the benefits, there was a slight improvement in perceived feel, but nothing that I could qauntify, and it may have been purely a placebo effect. I did this mod (for the 16mm LGT/SpecB bar) this past fall. The install was easy- I might have had to remove one wheel (maybe both) to do it properly- I can't remember. I installed it when I was rotating tires anyway. Patrick Looking for spacers or adapters to install aftermarket speakers in the doors of your Legacy? blaze741
thanks for the quick reply. i didn't want to start a new thread on past discuss topics. =] i'm debating on just manning up and getting a thicker bar. It seems like I won't feel any difference from such a slight upgrade.

phenryiv1
Jdm!!!! I have to say that this may be the way to go. This, or RalliTek F&R, as they make the only F bar for the 2.5i. AKLGT
22mm RSB+ or else! and yes, RSB makes a huge difference! Wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle yeah!!!
IanB
I just went from 15mm to 21mm solid (Cusco), pretty big difference. If you upgrade the RSB make sure you get some mount reinforcements. I don't think I'd bother with the 16mm, go big or go home.

mwiener2
According to my 2005 service manual, there is no difference between the suspension on different trims. I don't see why there would be. N.sane
It's been discussed before, and that's why Rallitek made a non-turbo specific FSB. Something to do with the exhaust/header location being in the way. It may not apply to 05 since it still had UEL, but 06-09 for sure. You can see the difference in the following links, 1st link is non-turbo: http://www.rallitek.com/rafrswbar08i.html http://www.rallitek.com/rafrswbar20w.html

Subie2.5i
I have the perrin sway for the lgt on my 2.5i all I had to do was take the top part of the shield from the midpipe and there is no rubbing.
