eekay
Hey all, I figured before I pulled out my TMIC and such that I would just verify to be sure... Is there a second (or even third) oil galley plug that I can tap into for my oil pressure gauge? I know there is one that does work under the alternator, but that one is supplying oil to my turbo. Is there one that a sender will fit on on the back of the block under the TMIC? My 9.3 cups EJ22 makes me feel like my **** is 2.8 decimeters! eekay
Just in case anyone else was wondering, there is, in fact, 3 extra galley plugs on the older EJ25's... The top galley plug is straight back from the plug under the alternator under a coolant line on the block. It's fairly easy to see but somewhat difficult to extract and there is certainly no room for a sender unit there. So, if you plan on using this, get an elbow with the threads as your plug and a steel braided oil line to move your sender elsewhere. The other two galley plugs are located on the bottom of your oil pump. They're pretty much side-by-side down there and there is much more room for a sender unit although it will be very exposed to the elements... Also, the oil pump galley plugs require a 12mm hex wrench to extract which is somewhat uncommon.... My 9.3 cups EJ22 makes me feel like my **** is 2.8 decimeters!
