caramall2
I currently have the exhaust apart for other reasons, but...Is it beneficial in anyway to try and "clean" the inside of the exhaust, especially the cat or anything, and is it even possible? Not sure what I'd even use to do it. I ran really rich and had some oil leak by for a while (cracked ringland) so just wondering if I've had excessive carbon and oil build up. ShadowImg
Exhaust seems like it is basically a self-cleaning oven. Huge amounts of heat and huge amounts of pressure, doesn't seem like anything would ever need cleaning.
caramall2
Thanks for the feedback guys. So you're saying use oven cleaner? Just kidding--I think you're right that it should be mostly "self-cleaning".

Platinum_Racing
You ... Aren't ... Serious ... (I hope) Actually if you really wanted to "Clean" your exhaust I'd say just spray it out with a garden hose (Minus the cat) then dry it best you can with a blow gun on an air compresser. Just make sure you put it back together and run the car to get it nice and hot and remove any leftover condensation to avoid rust. Would it be worth it? Probably not. Beneficial in any way, shape or form? Nope. Would the carbon deposits be back by the time you drove to work the next day? More than likely.
