FWIW, I'm pretty sure you can ship a shortblock from CO to UT for less than $200 bucks. I've shipped a full width axle (truck parts) from CO to NY for 225. Just make sure the fluids are completely drained. Put it on a pallet. I'd try Forward Air, which is how I sent mine.

I ship large arcade games all over the world. Forward Air tends to be pretty expensive. I would bet you could ship the short block for sub $150. I might even be able to help you if you need it.

I might be interested, could you send some pics with everything you are including. I will prob be driving up there for work a few times. So if I don't get it might be able to pick it up for chad if he wants it.

It's out!!!

Did not / will not perform compression test because it WILL FAIL due to blown headgaskets.

Once the block is free of the heads and other doodads I will photograph it like last years next top model and post it up

Bump

It's on the floor of my garage. i keep forgetting to take pics. now that I got a look at the heads and the gasket, it wasn't even a true headgasket leak. it was the beginning of a bad leak and I caught it just in time. There is a very narrow (maybe 1/4" ) shoot mark on the gasket face where it would leak at WOT.

Other than this soot mark, the shortblock is perfectly healthy with expected carbon deposits on the pistons for 72K miles.

This is a great shortblock to replace a blown one or for building a hybrid.
