What cars were you originally considering before you bought your LGT?

Recommended Posts

I test drove these two before I found the LGT Wagon.

G35x - I found it just a little boring actually considering the "pedigree".

9-2X aero - fun but just little too small.

Drove to the dealer for the first LGT Ltd Wagon I saw and it had already sold! :(

Test drove the second, and I bought it on the spot :)

Acura TL (no AWD, Torque Steer)

BMW 335xi (too expensive)

Honda Accord 6 cyl (just not for me)

Volvo x70 (couldn't get a decent sales person - two visits, one with the wife)

Inifnity G35 (no head room in the rear seats)

1. '05 BMW 330i w/Performance Pkg. (sexy, but too old, no AWD)

2. '09 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro (no manual available last fall, older ones too slow)

3. '09 WRX (Toughest decision, decided I needed more room and luxury)

2013 Ford Taurus SHO

2009 Spec.B SWP Stg 2+ Airboy tuned

2010 Toyota Sequoia Platinum 5.7

I was considering only a black BG5C GTB, but ended up with a black BG5C GTB Limited. Worked out well i think.

On a serious note, i really was not considering anything but the above, i had my heart set on it since taking ownership of my dads old car, a BG Liberty LX.

Before I bought the Spec B I was having some wierd american muscle fetish so I went from one spectrum to another. I loved the WRX so much I had to stay in a Subaru.

I was seriously considering:

2006-2007 STi

2005-2006 Corvette

2004 Mustang Bullit (Modified)

2000 Camaro SS Stock w/ 33xxx miles

1996 Camaro SS Lightly modified 36xxx miles

06-07 Civic Si Sedan (decided against if because my fiancee has a 07 Ciivic sedan)

05-07 G35 Sedan (no MT G35x)

05-07 Wrx (no leather)

IS 300 (no AWD)

05-07 TSX (low on powaa)

Ms3 (test drove this one felt kinda cheap torque steer anyone)

05-07 TL (this way the closest)

This year I think I'm ready to move on new cars that I may look at now

2010 Ford Flex or SHO (both with Ecoboost)

Pontiac G8 (no AWD and maybe no Pontiac )

08-09 Wrx Sti (I think I want an AT now)

2009 Audi A3 2.0t Quattro (have to drive one first)

Mitsu Evo MR (paddle shifting goodness)

Hyundai Genisis Coupe V6 AT (if I can convince myself I can deal with two less doors)

Infiniti G37x (might be pricey)

BMW 335xi (Same)

06-07 Audi S4 (reliability issues)

"All right, brain, I don't like you and you don't like me - so let's just do this and I'll get back to killing you with beer." :spin:

Infiniti G35

Nissan 350z

Very short list because I had a pretty good idea of my budget and what I wanted. G lost due to lack of modding potential as the LGT, interior that was just too damn close to my then Altima, especially for the price they wanted. 350z, RWD only and 2-seater. It was time to tell myself I need to grow up and ditch coupes. Married guy in a G? No bueno.

I still turn my head when I see a clean G, but I don't regret my decision, especially since I know I can smoke'em ;)

Future car? I have absolutely no idea. I do know that this LGT will be with me for a while. Not for financial reasons, but I just love the car too damn much. It meets every one of my expectations.
