markjrubin
Hi. First time poster, didn't see the answer in search. I've recently discovered this amazing car and am wondering if cloth was ever an option. I can't stand leather and am wondering what, if any, year(s) was Legacy GT orderable with cloth seats? Thanks! zmarko
Cloth was only available on the 2005 Legacy GT non-limited model. The non-limited had cloth seats and no sunroof. Subaru did away with the non-limited model after 2005.

Jim_KT
I'm not sure about any other years, but a buyer could purchase an '05 new without leather. My car is outfitted with heated cloth seats and wish they were leather.
Max Capacity
Like my heated cloth. I didn't know only the 05's could come that way. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. welby
Really? I had no idea that cloth only came on the '05's. Having said that, I love my heated cloth seats and lack of sunroof (Which I couldn't care less about anyways )
TPLGT
I love the sunroof. Leather is OK...easier to clean tham cloth...but cloth is just kinda cool. Rehab is for quitters.
issai
I prefer cloth because when I'm cornering I don't slide around as much as on leather seats. Also, being in Southern CA, I prefer not to have my calves burned by scorching hot leather.
lilbrudder
^try driving naked, you won't slide with leather. I love the leather, pretty much the reason i was sold on this one, it's all in the smell. You could buy any year and I'm sure you wouldn't have any trouble finding a cloth one to swap with. Mega Users LieutenantDan Posted April 18, 2009 Mega Users Share Posted April 18, 2009 '05 cloth heated seats here. Definitely the way to go. You also get to skip out on the wacky wood trim. 83k and they still look great. I love the Grey/Black two tone. I heard from someone w/ a forester that they were woven w/ Coolmax. A durable fast-drying, wicking, polyester. Care to chime in on that anyone?
rhe
I have heated Grey/Black cloth seats, no sun roof, and no wood trim on MY06 LGT 5EAT ==> exactly the way I prefer things! Apparently this combo was only available in Canada for 2006. Lloyd M. 2006 GRP LGT 5EAT Sedan [For Sale]

finalburden
I prefer cloth and no sunroof (and no wing even though I still ended up with one) .
Legend
I prefer cloth and no sunroof (and no wing even though I still ended up with one) . Funny you mention the wing... initially I was impartial about cloth vs. leather... but I was adamant about not getting the wing/spoiler. b707guy
My '97 has cloth seats HAHA! So does our '98. Methinks the OP has something newer in mind, though....
jagcars26
Another bonus of the cloth seat cars is you get more head room because there's no moonroof.
BoozeRS05
I would trade my heated leather seats + cash for heated cloth seats, but I love having a sunroof (first time).. Guest
If you buy one with leather, there is plenty of guys with cloth who would swap (and give you some cash). The only issue is that the passenger seat is not straight swap between 05 and 06+ due to the passenger occupancy sensor, but it can be done. BoozeRS05
Any link you can provide on the swap? EB's Subaru journal - 2005 LegacyGT Wagon & 2014 Forester FB25 (2008 specB - RIP) IG@legacygtliving
Guest
I did not do one, but you can search, at least two folks retrofitted 07 SpecB seats into 05 Legacy.
