DaveZ
I've got the bilsteins & will be installing Rallitek springs next week - has anyone done this & NOT cut bumpstops, or is it pretty much required - Rallitek says they drop about .9 inches. jagcars26
I don't think it's required fr any springs, cutting the bumpstops just increases the amount of travel for the struts. I'm doing the same thing next week Dave but with Bilsteins and pinks and I will be cutting the bumpstops before I start the install. Somebody will correct me if I'm wrong. DaveZ
yeah the original post about cutting the stops was in ref to the tein H & swifts which are a larger drop (1.5") than the rteks or pinks, which are about 1". Just wondering how necessary it is & what the downside might be with different springs.
DaveZ
Got my answer post #79 - no need says Rallitek http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77831&page=
jagcars26
Now I'm questioning weather I should cut the bump stops with the pinks? Anyone?
terrangama
I personally think you will be ok with not cutting them. Worst case scenario is that it does suck and you have to cut them later.
Andreu
I have spec b's with the rallietek. Did not cut the bump stops and i dodnt have any problems.
katalyst
i think the rallitek springs offer enough strut travel that the bump stops do not have to be modified. for others ie. swifts, it would probably be favorable to do the bumpstop mod
DaveZ
/\ absolutely corrrect RE the ralliteks, they dropped my rear only half an inch, the fronts a quarter. They are great springs to match with bilsteins for handling as you dont lose much if at all in stroke.
