zag300zx
So I just finished installing a RBS V2 Rear Lip Spoiler I got from Rommel. Overall I love the style, however I am having issues with the fit and finish of the part. I can’t get a uniform gap on the front edge of the spoiler, where it meets up with the top of the trunk. It appears the spoiler is warped or wavy, and won’t match up consistently with the trunk contour. At first I thought I installed it wrong, so I removed it (no easy task) and tried again, but low and behold I have the exact same issue as before. Also the paint job could have been better on the edges, you can actually see the black underneath in spots. I told myself I could live with the paint, but the waviness is driving me crazy. Has anyone else had this issue in the past? Is there any way to fix it? This definitely takes the wind out of my sails. Thanks guys. http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g63/zag300zx/IMG_0664.jpg http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g63/zag300zx/IMG_0654.jpg http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g63/zag300zx/IMG_0655.jpg http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g63/zag300zx/IMG_0667.jpg
JonLGT
That paint match looks...off.
vtbimmer
If it were mine it would annoy the crap outta me. I mean it is a piece pretty much meant for looks. If you can live with the wavy part maybe just get it repainted to match and cover the piece better.
TPLGT
I would contact Rommel. That paint is not good. Rehab is for quitters.
zag300zx
Anybody else have this issue with RBS parts? Most everything I have heard has been great. I have sent Rommel a PM, we'll see what he is willing to do here.
DeGioiaGT
repaint it and then see if it looks as wavy. my bet is that the glare from the unpainted part and shadow is making it look way worse than it is.

zag300zx
Spoke with Rommel and he informed me to send it back to him. Sounds like he will take care of it!
cq1700
Ive got the same piece I got from HKC-Speed. Exact same problems. I took it off until I can sort out what I want to do with it.
BigInALegacy
I made a walkthrough for installing this piece... the curve on the inside of the spoiler is made to fit PERFECT on the trunk, too much high or low will cause it to not line up correctly on the top or bottom (depending if high or low). I'll try to find my walkthrough and link, maybe that'll help.

zag300zx
http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=72580&highlight=installing+RBS+spoiler Hope that helps. Thanks Big, I read the walkthrough many times trying to figure it out. I did get it lined up right, but looking down the front edge with the spoiler off the car it is clearly wavy...definitely a mfg problem. I will let you all know what Rommel thinks when he gets it back.
