DrewLGT
i replaced my stock pads and rotors last weekend. the car only has 29k miles, but i figured with all the datalogs i've done, pulling the car down from triple digit speeds had taken it's toll on the pads. plus they were making a wicked squealing sound. when i got the old pads out they looked suprisingly good, definitely had some life left in them... i went with the mid grade pads and rotors from oriely ( the car is back to stock from stage 2+, and i dont see me keeping it much longer). so everything went smoothly installing them, they squeeled a bit the first couple days, which is normal i was told. i get an occasional grinding noise now. my wife heard it first, and i can hear it faintly also. but it raely does iy, usually just at low speeds on rough surfaces like gravel. what could cause new brakes to make a grinding noise? anything i could have botched during install?? all in my head? Th3Franz
Did you perform a bedding process for the pads? Some pads are just noisier than others.. whether it be a squeal or grinding noise, especially cheap pads or extreme track pads. -Franz The end of a Legacy http://www.youtube.com/th3franz
