Spec B pricing

I have found an 08 Spec B online and it is listed at 29,997. I feel this is a bit pricey considering that the 10's will be in the showroom in as little as a couple months. Any comments on what people have paid for their 08 Spec Bs? Also, I have heard of the stop sale on 08 Spec Bs that occurred.... it was for VIN #X22958? Right? Thank you for any help.

Other question I have is: How can I determine if the engine problem with VIN #X22958 includes this VIN? (4S3BL696883212195) I am illiterate when it comes to speaking VIN.

Legacy 2.5GT-LTD 222825 or later 2008/02/04 or later

2.5GT-B 222958 or later 2008/02/04 or later

Looks like the one you're looking at was made before the stop sale!

Yeah that really isn't too shabby at all.

I noticed in your post in a different thread that the higher price you were qouted included a host of extras/options, what you listed (including maint., and excluding spoiler) is exactly how my car is spec'd...The short throw is great, and included maintenance is even better...My .02 :)

I just got this in my e-mail today:

PUENTE HILLS SUBARU

SAY GOODBYE TO 2008'S

WE HAVE REMAINING 2008 NEW SUBARU MODELS IN STOCK. HERE IS A NEVER BEFORE SAVINGS BEING OFFERED BY GENERAL MANAGER AARON DUPORT.

MSRP TOTAL SAVINGS

LEGACY 2.5GT SEDAN $ 31252 $ < 8200 >

LEGACY 2.5 SPEC B $ 35452 $ < 7200 >

That brings the Spec B down to $28252

I paid $30,886.00 plus TTL for mine back in August.

edit: Here's the direct link to the inventory on the dealer's site: http://www.puente.subaru.com/new-inventory/vehicle-details.htm?vehicleId=f632551c7f000001003c4c332285036a

If you're thinking of the recent recall on the Turbo Legacy I think all 08 models had the recall apply to them, it shouldn't matter though, the dealer should be able to fix it for you before delivery.

There was a stop sale on Imprezza's last year if I'm not mistaken. It happened around the same time I was looking for my car.

It was a stop sale on EVERY turbo Subaru actually.

  • 2 weeks later...
There is no say on whether there is going to be a spec b. for the new models. Given the way subaru is headed I would not expect it. The new model is heaveir and watered down to be more competative. I dont know about the price but if you found something you like I woulndt hesitate.
