GT1
Trying to figure out which is the best way to remove/clean oily mess from outside bottom of door panels. Is there a cleaner that would not mess up the paint/clear-coat? I brought my car in for rustproofing (Krown Rust Control - Canada) back in november of '08 and this stuff is still oozing out of the door drip holes and gathering on the outside surface...and turning black with time. A simple car wash does not get rid of it. BTW this is an oil based compound that is very slick and leaves a very thin coat layer to protect against rust build-up. I just figure I could spray something and wipe it off from time to time until it does not leak out any longer....or it is time to re-apply again...next winter. BigBad
Try some plain mineral spirits to remove the excess. The oil based compound has mineral spirits in it's makeup if its like the stuff I used in the past from Eastwood.
