Recommended Posts

On my 99 brighton leg 2.2/ EJ22 motor ; front of motor, on top, just behind the drive belt, (standing in front of car) slightly left of center, just in front of the engine I.D. stamp (EJ22) looks like a bolt , its 24 mm, it has a two wire metal, "L" shaped connector right on top. It appears to be leaking a little oil. WHAT IS IT?!? AND WHAT DOES IT DO?!? :spin:

Sounds like the oil pressure switch.

Crank position sensor. Isn't the oil pressure switch on the back of the motor? It's been a REALLY long time since I played with an EJ22.

yep. are you sure it's leaking from there and not the power steering? Having that leak is pretty rare unless someone messed with it.

No I am not positive the oily build up surounding the sensor isn't from above, good point, I will investigate further. It does look like a sort of pressure switch though, know that it has been mentioned.
