Brighton99v
I have a 1999 Legacy brighton wagon AWD 2.2L, what kind of gas milliage "should" I be getting?, provided that my car was running in tip top shape?
KnifeyMcShanker
It really depends on your driving style and where you spend most of your time. For reference though, I have a 2.5 GT and I get 22 mpg on a tank with about 50/50 highway/city when I am TRYING to get high mileage, and about 18-19 when I am not. But I'm sure some people can get higher mileage than me, I can't help but punch it on on-rams and the like...
Brighton99v
I just read a sticky on specs for the 99 brighton legacy, It reads thati should be getting 22 city and 29 highway. Is there really that much of a city/highway difference?
petefrommeat
yes there is, accelerating eats gas mileage and sitting at lights just eats gas. i can get about 32 mpg/avg when doing all highway driving. I did 250 miles and burned a little less than a half tank. 50/50 mixed im getting somewhere between 24 and 26.
1-3-2-4
my driving style is nuts.. I started at a full tank and when i finally hit the 1/2 mark I only had 130 miles from the tank lol I have to do some testing so no hard driving coming up.
987687
I get about 28mpg where I live. I live in the middle of nowhereville in maine, so I'm mostly driving on rural roads at about 50mph dodging pot holes. And I have a 2.2L 5MT as well.
fischer881
I get about 22.5 mpg and I do 75% high way and 25% city, but also my airfilter is crap and I'm not going to replace it untill I get my short ram intake. 1997 LGT 2.5 5MT
987687
Air filter won't really affect economy on EFI engines, only performance.
KnifeyMcShanker
You can at least blow some compressed air on the dirty side, might gain you a few cfm of flow...
