fishbone
I know it's been talked before but I can't remember what the consensus is on OTS econo mode maps. I have one from Cobb and one from PDX, both are tuned afaik for 13PSI max boost. I have a 900+ mile trip ahead of me up to Canadia and not sure if I should even bother to give them a shot. Last time I got an average of 26mpg on the regular non-econo mode PDX map with a total of 3 people in the car and a trunk full of luggage, haulin' at 75+ mph. Don't want to neuter the car unless there's a noticeable gain
Pdizzleccc
have you ever looked at the boost levels when you are crusing, I don't know what else they cut in the maps, but I would think they were designed for more city driving trying to keep the cars out of boost, and probably wouldn't make too much of a difference on the freeway making no boost, but if you wanna be the tester 900 miles would be a good ral world test. fishbone
Both COBB and PDX indicate that it's not a good idea to go WOT on econo maps. On the freeway, depending on the conditions, cruising pushes no boost. While accelerating it'll go in positive boost as high as 14PSI, depending. scoobydoobie
Just run your usual map and try to keep your foot out of it as much as possible. Not worth it to run the economy map IMO.
sschmelcke
i actually got worse mileage on my long trip with the low boost map. the main issue of why i flashed was because New Hampshire didnt offer 93 octane which is what my high boost map was tuned for. so therefore i just flashed the low boost and used
fishbone
2200 miles of highway driving, 70+mph 90% of the time, 4 people in the car, trunk full of luggage, 38-46*F outside and still managed to average 24mpg.
Impulse
^ thats with the econo map on? or your stage2?
fishbone
Regular map, not econo map. PDX tune by Jarrad. I don't think I could have asked for a better mpg.
