RIPjeep2002
Does anybody have experience with the company Lamin-x? I just ordered up a set of their smoke third break light, and tailight overlays. It's like window tint, but for the elements. Anybody have any feedback on them?
LuckyBob
Yes. I've got them on my car (all rear lights and the '08+ reflectors) and love them. Plus, having seen several other LGT buddies of mine use standard window tint and have endless problems with wrinkles I'm glad I spent the cash. Be forewarned though - the third (fourth?) brake light cover for the spoiler wasn't cut right so they had to send me a bulk sheet that I cut myself. RIPjeep2002
Awesome. How hard were they to apply?
Vbelisle
I have them too, and I love them they were really easy to apply they took me like 30 minutes because it was freezing out.
LuckyBob
Not very - they're really forgiving during application. Just make sure you get it right 'cuz once they dry out it's a done deal. Use a hair dryer or a heat gun to soften up places that don't seem to want to fit correctly or to "lock" down an area. The instructions have lots of good tips. One thing I forgot to do while applying mine was keep the outside of the film wet so I've got some minor scratches on the surface of the film from the applicator. Vbelisle
yeah and use a small pin for the bubbles and they should come right out.
RIPjeep2002
Any helpful hints you guys have for me to apply these right the first time?
Vbelisle
Honestly it sounds harder then it actually was, just take your time and follow the instructions. You may also want to heat the film up a bit with a hair dryer just so that it is flexible when your trying to put it on.

Make sure when you are applying you peel off and reapply as many times as you need to; I must have pulled corners off and put it back on at least 20 times to make sure it was aligned correctly. Hair dryer, also very handy.
LightHouse
I have been a dealer for them for ahwhile (not trying to solicit) But the kits are the easiest to install you can find. They are much thicker than tint or anything else which makes them pliable and flexible. If you read the entire directions before starting, you should have no problem getting them on. Do you all have a sponsor on the forum that sells them already? If not i may consider it, if someone can send me to the correct person. -Chris W
LegacyMUN2k6
Would it be easier to remove the tailights than apply the film

Good guy. He has his own thread in the Vendor Classified section. Would it be easier to remove the tailights than apply the film Absolutely NO NEED to do such a thing. People really need to start using the SEARCH function before starting threads... Please people, it saves you time, saves us time, and makes the world a happier place. Most people try to slice the whole thing on one try... doesn't work out too well.
