gotsugg
I'm using a Yakima but would like something a little more slim-line.
sactojesse
As far as roof racks are concerned, I'm running Yakima EZ-rider towers (attach to the stock factory wagon rails) w/ Yakima 48" round bars and two Yakima Steelhead locking fork mount racks. For DH and FR bikes w/ 20 mm through axle forks, I'm using a Hidden Hitch 1 1/4" receiver hitch and an old SportWorks two-bike rack. Thule bought SportWorks' patent and took over their product line, so you'll have to go through Thule if you want something similar now. Also, I'd recommend going w/ the factory hitch instead of a Hidden Hitch, which is a misnomer as it hangs down too far and sometimes scrapes going in or out of driveways. http://photos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v374/101/16/536748931/n536748931_1159185_968.jpg http://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v374/101/16/536748931/n536748931_1159187_2869.jpg
Mega Users LieutenantDan Posted April 6, 2009 Mega Users Share Posted April 6, 2009 Sedan or Wagon? I've got the standard Thule rack on my sedan and I use a yakima copperhead to transport a rather large and heavy mountain bike. It works perfectly for me. I also use the rack to transport 2 rather large and heavy kayaks with the use of the yakima kayak stacker. The thule rack has square bars which I like more than the yakima round bars and looks better and is better quality than the yakima IMO. I've installed plenty of yakima racks but I just like the thule more.
