How does raising the motor help with the up pipe install??

Trying to visualize how I think the different exhaust pieces go together, I just dont understand how raising the motor helps get the up pipe out.

 

Anyone care to explain?

you don't have to raise the motor. Just take off the pass. side manifold and take out the bottom or take ff the turbo and pull it out the top.

if you leave the egt sensor in the UP, you cannot slip it out from the bottom unless you raise the motor. if you just remove the sensor, or bent it out of the way, you dont have to raise the motor and can slip it out the bottom after removing the headder on the passenger side.
