Datalogging How to.

Someone should write an up to date version with the correct parameters to log for certain situations and what type of log they need to do. Such as 3rd gear WOT to redline for checking timing, boost, etc.... Cruising for maf calibrations.

I know there is a ton of details to be covered but with the AP now able to datalog this forum is getting littered with people throwing up logs that are useless and someone always has to step in and tell them what to do.

Its like freaking Ground hogs day in here.

If using RR:

To tune boost and timing:

Engine Speed

Engine Load (1 byte)

Total Timing

Knock Sum

Turbo Dynamics Integral

WGDC%

Manifold Relative Pressure (corrected)

Maf g/sec (I don't think this is needed, but I ike to log it)

Throttle position %

Did I miss anything?

Also important to note the temp and atmospheric pressure before your log runs. Also check your IAM make sire it is at 1. Do your WOT runs from ~2000 RPM to redline.

Good set. I would only add that if you are testing a new map that you don't do a WOT run but a 2-4K run and watch knock sum and TD Integral. If after this run you do not notice any knock and no negative TD then do a WOT run. I always do this to be extra safe.
