Daedalus
Any of you NoVA locals pass emissions with a cattless downpipe? Service stations don't do the sniffer test anymore and only plug in the OBD2 port and scan the codes. If you've disabled the cat inefficency CEL with and accessport or otherwise, will you pass the OBD2 scan?
Regal05LGT
You will pass the scan, but if they do a visual inspection it is obvious you don't have a cat....

blackfang
Yes, but the post you liked talks about NJ. Is NJ's requirements different than VA's? Maybe they do not have a visual like VA does, where they also inspect to see if there is one in place. Merc6
X fairfax county resident and they said nothing. It's here that was anal even with 1 hi flo cat in place. Worst case cut the heat shiled off a old cat and weld it over the pipe. I passed va safety with the bands showing on re92 before the new tires arrived after inspection. 2005 Satin White Pearl Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT Unlimited 5EAT (Project Car) 2019 Agate Black Ford Explorer XLT 4WD (DD)

Merc6
The answer is yes depending on where you go to get it checked out. Both of mine were shell gas stations not located in the hood. 2005 Satin White Pearl Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT Unlimited 5EAT (Project Car) 2019 Agate Black Ford Explorer XLT 4WD (DD)
