c-lo
there are COUNTLESS threads on this issue and rather than search through those threads I thought I'd post my question here. Have we are is there any explanation as to why the stock bulbs repeatedly burn out? I just replaced a bulb 2 weeks ago and the damn thing blew out again last night. I've very careful when I install them so I'm going to rule that out. My dome lights repeatedly burn out too and have yet to hook up a volt meter to them. I've got to wonder if the two issues are related. When I replaced my low beam two weeks ago the bulb I took out looked like it was about to burst. the bulb had a bubble on the side of it. I'm about ready to drop some $$$ on some HIDS. 258k miles - Stock engine/minor suspension upgrades/original shocks/rear struts replaced at 222k/4 passenger side wheel bearings/3 clutches/1 radiator/3 turbos
zcarmob
When you installed the headlights did you touch the glass on the bulb. I'm pretty sure that the grease on your fingers will cause the bulb to fail prematurely.
c-lo
As I stated I'm very careful when i install them, so that can be ruled out. 258k miles - Stock engine/minor suspension upgrades/original shocks/rear struts replaced at 222k/4 passenger side wheel bearings/3 clutches/1 radiator/3 turbos
bluesuby
Are you starting your car with the headlights "on"? I believe that was discussed in an earlier thread.

suzysube
H7's are known to have a short life span. Mine have surprisingly lasted for almost 2 years. So i don't know whats going on with yours. I'm interested to see what the problem and outcome is.
Levish
Check to make sure you have all the pop-its and rubber grommets around the headlight housing. I was having blubs going out all the time, and it seemed like in particular they went out after bumps and it was always the same side. I was missing a pop-it on one of them, i replaced it and haven't replaced a bulb in about three years knock on wood.

whitetiger
upgrade to HIDs = Problem solved. HIDs will prolly last the life of the car. add up all the $$$ you spend on bulb replacement, and the HIDs become well worth it especially when you can get set now for around $
