Mod sturt tower to fit rubber insert for Camber plate?

I have had my DMS camber plates installed for a little while now. I made an insert for them to lower the NVH. It is something Mark from MSI recommended doing.

The problem is the rubber insert will increase the stack height of the plates causing fitment issues.

Pic of the insert that will go between plate and strut tower:

You can see here there is about 2 mm of space between the fancy plate and the lip of the strut tower:

If I put in the rubber insert, I will have to grind away 4 or 5 mm of the lip of the shock tower.

Anyone think that may have its drawbacks?

-structural rigidity

-rust

-inspections

I don't think you would have much if any issues at all. Just mark the area of the strut tower, that would interfere with the locking plate. Make sure to factor in the full adjustment range of the plate. Grind only that area of the opening.

The amount of material you have to grind off should not compromise the strength of the strut tower opening.

I made something similar for my plates, but used a different material. Thinner yes,but still eliminating the metal to metal interface.
