Getting my LGT tomorrow!

Recommended Posts

Hey all.

Just wanted to say what's up. The lease is finally up on my 06' mazda 6 and i'm going to pickup an 05' GT Limited in the morning.

My dad works for a dealership so I'm getting a pretty solid deal.

'05 White Satin GT Limited

1 owner

70,000 Miles

$11,500

Anyways, the one thing I dislike about this interior of the satin white is the wood trim. I've always hated wood trim. I'm going to replace the shifter, but my question is - can I buy the brushed aluminum trim for around the stereo/console and door handles? Are these sold anywhere?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the site.

You'll find a lot of answers to your general questions in here: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67940

To answer your question specifically, there are companies that make what you are asking about, but to my knowledge, no one has tried them. I think the pieces are just flat and not contoured to the shape, which is the reason people have doubts. Maddad does make a contoured trim set but I don't think it has the pieces you are interested in. Just google dash kits and you'll find them.

i'll trade you my center console silver trim for your wood trim

from the dealer the trim pieces are $120 each

I may very well take you up on that. let me get settled in with the car this week and we'll definitely talk.

Where are you located?

My pops works at the dealership, so I'm paying dealer cost. It was on the lot for 14,999 they got a good deal on the trade-in so I'm getting it for their cost.

11,500

Don't fret!

congrats... u most definately will have a blast.... just note though the stock turbos that come on our cars (vf40) tend to go out pre maturely... first thing i would do is check for shaft play.... it also mainly depends how the car was driven during its life... my car has 71000 miles with stock turbo ran pretty hard with no signs of problems yet (knock on wood) but just a heads up...

Yeah I've been reading that. Like I said, my dad has worked at this subaru dealership for about 9 years, and before he ok'd this purchase he talked to the mechanics who worked on the car after it was traded-in, and they gave it the ok. He trusts them, so I have to trust them.

If theres something you think I should have them check before I drive it off, I can. But they wouldn't let family buy the car if anything was seriously wrong.

honestly the turbo goin out is not a big deal.... do you plan on leaving the car stock or do you plan on doing things to it?? if they said everything is good then ur good to go... i was just giving you a heads up about the turbo... and also the wheel bearing... but someone said the warranty is like 100k miles?? i dont remember... search for the thread on here.... it should tell you... its a great and fun car... i think your gonna enjoy it...

Would they let someone else buy it if there was something seriously wrong?

Congrats on the purchase. You got a hell of a deal, enjoy it! :)
