mattaleao
Hey all. Just wanted to say what's up. The lease is finally up on my 06' mazda 6 and i'm going to pickup an 05' GT Limited in the morning. My dad works for a dealership so I'm getting a pretty solid deal. '05 White Satin GT Limited 1 owner 70,000 Miles $11,500 Anyways, the one thing I dislike about this interior of the satin white is the wood trim. I've always hated wood trim. I'm going to replace the shifter, but my question is - can I buy the brushed aluminum trim for around the stereo/console and door handles? Are these sold anywhere? Thanks in advance! StoplightAssassin
Welcome to the site. You'll find a lot of answers to your general questions in here: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67940 To answer your question specifically, there are companies that make what you are asking about, but to my knowledge, no one has tried them. I think the pieces are just flat and not contoured to the shape, which is the reason people have doubts. Maddad does make a contoured trim set but I don't think it has the pieces you are interested in. Just google dash kits and you'll find them. StoplightAssassin
its not too hard...I did suede on mine...here's the link: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=101496 I'll probably get started on the interior again and do it better this time around since its getting nicer out and I have some experience with it. mattaleao
Its not so much the fabric as it is the wood paneling I want to get rid of. I suppose I could just spraypaint it, but i'd rather get some brushed aluminum pieces to replace the wood if I could find it.

E-Tank
I love the wood trim on my 05. It's kind of a mat finish so it's no too abrasive. I say try and let it grow on you for a while. Did you get MT or AT?

tingtang
congrats... u most definately will have a blast.... just note though the stock turbos that come on our cars (vf40) tend to go out pre maturely... first thing i would do is check for shaft play.... it also mainly depends how the car was driven during its life... my car has 71000 miles with stock turbo ran pretty hard with no signs of problems yet (knock on wood) but just a heads up... Yeah I've been reading that. Like I said, my dad has worked at this subaru dealership for about 9 years, and before he ok'd this purchase he talked to the mechanics who worked on the car after it was traded-in, and they gave it the ok. He trusts them, so I have to trust them. If theres something you think I should have them check before I drive it off, I can. But they wouldn't let family buy the car if anything was seriously wrong. tingtang
honestly the turbo goin out is not a big deal.... do you plan on leaving the car stock or do you plan on doing things to it?? if they said everything is good then ur good to go... i was just giving you a heads up about the turbo... and also the wheel bearing... but someone said the warranty is like 100k miles?? i dont remember... search for the thread on here.... it should tell you... its a great and fun car... i think your gonna enjoy it... mattaleao
Yeah i'll leave it mostly stock, anything I do to it will be stereo related, and possibly some de-badging. That's all.

mdelachaise
I always liked the wood trim. My old Cordoba had it and always thought it added that "luxury car" feel, even if it isn't.
