double din deck install question

its been a while since i have installed a radio, and i have never installed a double-din radio.deck, thats the one im looking at getting.

-my question was do i need to buy a certain dash kit with this or, do i even need a kit because it takes up both slots?

Um... what kind of car do you have?

 

Most double din units take up both slots and need no kit.

oh shoot, i have a 99 legacy gt so no i dont have auto climate controls, the factory stero takes up 2 slots..

I believe the top slot is the radio, and the bottom slot is the CD changer head unit. Just take them both out, and you have a double slot.
