Subaru stated in 2005 that turbo requires 7500 mile OCI (for normal duty and half of it for severe) but year later they changed it (but not retroactively) to 3750.

PS So your 2008 requires oil change each 3750 miles.

I saw it. If I am not mistaken it was never labeled as "MUST FOLLOW" to keep 2005 GT under warranty.

What do you think about this section

"Racing-Type Driving

Racing-type engine stress doesn’t only occur on the track. Racing-type driving occurs when the drivetrain, suspension, and other vehicle components are used at near peak capacity. Any driving where the engine speed is kept high – either by using lower gears at higher speeds or using engine braking – is considered racing-type driving."

With engine braking the turbo is not spooling that fast (no fuel delivered) so why is it labeled "racing-type driving"? And what one considers "high engine speed" with 6500 redline?

really that much for the NA? Wow, I thought doing it an 4500 was negligent.

I wouldnt mind going 7,500mi in my '09 2.5i se simply because of how much oil it consumes. I bet i could go through 2 quarts of oil over 7,500 miles, so i'm always replenishing the acid neutralizing agents that get depleted over the oci, and the NA motors probably don't shear the oil that much.
