raloi
Dudes, Based on the CEL codes, my front O2 sensor is bad. Ok, I buy a new one and do a search for replacement procedures. Where in the hell is the damn thing ???? I'm sure once I find it, all will be good .... Thx, R
NutBucket
Right side exhaust manifold. It faces the wheel.
caschmidt
U can almost see it from the engine bay. Its got the heat shield that says SUBARU on it. You may have some rusty heat shield nuts and bolts tho, I had my brother take an angle grinder to them after I removed the cat.

caschmidt
lol ya good luck. dealers charge out the a$$ for it too. the one near my house wanted $135 for JUST replacing it, not including the sensor
987687
Just reset the code and see if it comes back. Mine came on about 5 months ago for the rear O2 so I reset it. And it has not come back.
raloi
Once I find it ... should be good to go ...... I know the dealers rape ya on this one .... thx for the input
raloi
Update: Bought a replacement O2 sensor for "subaru legacy" from The Parts Bin, wrong part (too short, wrong connector). Bought a Bosch universal O2 sensor, followed the custom "wire" chart, no good ... now the car runs very rough. I should have just spent the $150 on the direct replacement sensor. Oh well, lesson learned ....
