sschmelcke
this is my new pdx map for my cobb st intake. i tried starting this log at 2000 rpm but with the delay of the AP it ended up starting around 2500. let me know what you think. i also sent it to jarrad to take a look at it but havent heard back yet.3rd gear pull till redline.csv
Legend
Looks bad. I wouldn't go WOT to redline with this tune. Is your intake calibrated? - Knock at 4239rpm, 5263rpm, 5475rpm - Too much boost (14.3 at redline?) and odd boost control (WG pegged at your max WG the whole run) My '05 LGT My '07 Supercharged Shelby
sschmelcke
yeah this was supposed to be the new tune for my intake. it was a 3rd gear 5eat run. mods are ipt vb, perrin tmic, catless dp and up, forge bpv valve, cobb st intake
Spec B
Yeah...your map needs to be tuned down a little bit. Knock at the mid-high end is not good..ever. A good tune should not knock at all on WOT runs.
sschmelcke
only mod added since last tune was cobb sf intake with box. never logged it before that though. probably been running a bad tune for 6 months. i havent heard back from jarrod yet as to his opinions
sschmelcke
thanks a lot guys. i guess i will take it easy till i get a new map then. it was my first time data logging so i was hoping i got everything right. it seemed simple enough
Legend
only mod added since last tune was cobb sf intake with box. That's a very significant mod in terms of a tune though. Easily enough to throw everything out of whack. My '05 LGT My '07 Supercharged Shelby
sschmelcke
yeah thats why i logged it. i ran the tune for around 200 miles to let the car learn a little and then managed to find a nice empty highway lastnight. the car does feel a bit different than it did before. i probably should have datalogged my first pdx tune but at the time the AP didnt datalog and i didnt have a laptop or tactrix cable. Ridgeracer
That's a very significant mod in terms of a tune though. Easily enough to throw everything out of whack. I'm pretty sure he might have been running too much boost even prior to the intake change. Just to confirm OP, this is a VF40 correct? sschmelcke
could i have caused any long term damage? the previous tune i was on for around 6 months or so. the car seems to run ok. no odd oil consumption. usually down between 0.5 or 1.0 quart every 3-5k miles. also i have the invidia divorced DP. could that be causing the wastegate issues?? sschmelcke
also could the spring in my forge bpv valve cause any issues? im using the spring corresponding to the boost i am supposed to be making. either way for now ive switched back to the cobb map till jarrod sends me a revised one
boostsr20
With that map you'll probably be fine running WOT in 1st and 2nd gear where the loads are lower, but the 5eat has such a long 3rd gear that it seems to be more prone to knock than M/T's. Maybe a heatsoak issue.
sschmelcke
i made sure to drive the car around beforehand to avoid heatsoak so im not sure that was the problem. plus it was 34 degree outside at the time. im gonna stick with the cobb stage 2 map for now to be safe till i get another map. Spec B
^good idea, this is a perfect example of why we all should log our cars when we get a new map..there are usually some minor tweaks that need to be made if your getting the tune via email.
