donv
I took my car into Colonial Subaru of Feasterville, PA yesterday for an oil change and tire rotation. I looked up online to see if they were running any special and it just so happened that they had a $49.00 winter special here's the ad: Winter Specials Lube, Oil & Filter (up to 5 quarts) Rotate Tires & Check Pressure Battery Check Brake System Check *Diesel engine or Synthetic oils extra $49.95 So when the service rep asked me what I was in for I said oil change and tire rotation. He quoted me $64.00, until I asked him about the winter special. He looked it up on the website and printed the ad. Saving myself $14.00 Why he didn't come right out and say they were running the winter special is beyond me. I guess that was the first buyer beware flag. I also asked that the car be washed since they do it for free (if you ask). He said "I already have that down to wash the car" No sooner did I leave the dealership and was on the train that I got a phone call from the Rep. My air filter needed replacing, $40.00 and my battery was over 3 yrs old so they recommended replacing that $130.00. I told him do the filter replacement and skip the battery change since 1. I never had a problem with the battery 2. I could replace it myself at a greater savings. Now they call to let me know that the car is serviced and ready to go. I tell them I'll be there on my way home from work. The first thing I notice when I got home and in my garage is that the car was never washed. The reason being, there were still bugs on the bumper from the day before when I drove to Hershey, PA from Phila. Second, Looking over the inspection checklist that they attached to the bill I noticed that under wipers blades they check off that it may require follow up attention. Now it just so happened that I was at Colonial on the Friday and purchased rear brake pads and new wiper blades which I replaced in their parking lot (the wipers). Also, they check off that the brakes needed attention. Well, I replaced the Front brakes this summer and checked both front and rear brakes on Sat. I had at least 50% of the rear pads so I left them on and did not use the new pads that I purchased on Fri. So now I'm really mad and notice that the tires were never rotated. I know this because I have a small scratch on the Fnt rim and if it was rotated it would be on the back of the car. Now I call them this morning and tell the service rep I was in yesterday (yes He remembered) I ask him how they do a service inspection, and I tell him about the wipers and to check with the parts department to verify that I did indeed purchase new wiper blades. Then I go on about the wash, He apologies and said that they got backed up and didn't do it (why not tell me when I picked it up?) Then I tell him about the rotation that was never done and how I knew it was never done. He stops me and tells me to bring in the car and they'll do it right away. WTF, like I have time today to run there and wait for service that they should have done yesterday when they had the car. So, I'm just going to go back and demand my money back. Who knows if they even changed the oil and the filter. I am done with Colonial Subaru of Feasterville, PA. I suggest you avoid it too! Does anyone have a good (trustworthy) dealersip near NE Philadelphia?

Bolksey85
Beans is great for both service and parts along with A&T in Sellersville. Avoid a Faulkner anything. Not just Subaru but everything they sell.
psucaptainkickass
You paid $40 to have them change the filter, and then you claim that you'll have better savings if you changed the battery yourself...um... Changing the filter is probably the EASIEST maintenance you can do on this car...the battery is a close second, but you can die if you do it wrong. Why did you let them take you for a ride like that? donv
Stupidly on my part! I could have saved myself at the very least 20 bucks! And I was in a rush and didn't look at the service manual. I know on my Wife's sienna the damn air filter is almost buried in the engine compartment.

ineedone
Frederick Subaru in Frederick, MD. Horrible customer service, i had my car there once. They only have one advisor who deals with subaru, so when she takes a day off they just transfer you to voicemail. I brought my car in for an inspection and they made me buy thier crap wiper blades to pass inspection, mine were fine with no rips or damage. When I confronted them about it they(the other advisors) started an argument. No one could answer any questions I had because 'the subaru tech and the parts guy was gone for the day' at 3pm. I goto Fitzgerald now.
petefrommeat
fitzgerald subaru in gaithersburg, md is utterly horrible. When i bought the car, they offered me a service package where every other maintenance and oil change is free, and the ones that are not are 50% off. I paid an extra 500 for that. I got the first service free, and then received a phone call a few days ago saying that the subaru does not offer that plan for my car. I had also bought a tire and rim package for $1030. I had a bit of an incident, where i blew 3 tires and destroyed 2 rims. after two weeks of my car being in the shop, the service advisor called me and asked me when i was going to pay the 1800 i owed to come get my car out of their lot. They said they were not going to cover because the incident didnt occur on a paved road. i also refinanced to a lower rate loan right after i bought it, and they have yet to refund my gap insurance the finance manager said he would have to me by the end of february. long story short, i asked them to refund any maintenance and tire/rim programs i had added to my loan. No response. sounds like i need to get the lawyers involved...
