donv
I have a 05 Outback wagon limited 2.51 with 28K miles. I replaced the front brake pads in August. Now when I apply the brakes and right before the car comes to a complete stop I feel in the pedal or (hear) a grinding noise possibly from the front of the car. I did not use OEM pads when I did the replacement. The brake pads look ok when I pulled the tires. and there is no noise when I'm driving the car. Bad Bearings? I thought that bad bearings make a thumping noise.
sooberoo
You may have got a rock or pebble stuck between the pad and the rotor. Subes are notorious for this.....
mikeislord
Doesn't sound like a bearing issue to me.
Opie
Sound like a rust on the rotors/backing plate issue or possibly the aftermarket pads themselves.
donv
It could have been a stone for the last few days no grinding. I'm going to check the pads again. Could be that they are after market pads and not OEM.
