elijah73
I'm thinking about taking over an LGT that needs a head gasket. I can do most repair work on my own and have some friends that might be able to help, but is this something that the average person can do at home or a friends garage? What is required to replace a head gasket, and labor fees aside, what would it cost me?

blackfang
That is a job that is easily screwed up and if you screw it up you can ruin the motor. Definitely not a DIY for a beginner or a novice. I have even seen experience mechanics/technicians not familiar with Subaru's ruin motors due to botched headgasket repairs.
