300,000? Just imagine all the head gasket replacements that thing needed. I would guess at least 3, one every 100,000. Subaru probably had to put the thing in a commercial, they owed it to the poor sumbitch who has been paying thru the nose to keep it on the road. I hope mine runs that long.

I think you can find that forester on there....

Essentially, a driver in Sweden bought a used 1999 Outback in 2000 with 12,000 km on the odometer. His most recent safety inspection shows that he had 807,801 km. (501,944.27 miles) He can only use his left foot to drive because of a birth defect. He's "retired" but freelances delivering camper trailers throughout Sweden, so about half those km were spent towing trailers.

Another one:

The car has just been to a state inspection in April and passed with no remarks. It's still running original engine, gearbox, springs, dampers, and exhaust. The only main repair has been headgaskets....at 680,000 km. A front CV joint and both rear wheel bearings have also been replaced.

680,000 kilometers = 422,532.411 miles

We have a long ways to catch up....

yeah my tranny slips into 3rd to more when cold than hot but I just cleaned the filter and pretty much flushed it the old fluid looked like motor oil!!! my locked overdrive works much better because I don't even think it worked before!!!???? but it still has to run highway speeds for like 5-10 mins depending on outside temp!! is that normal?:???? but the 2nd hits hard the 3rd slips then kicks but not too hard it just kinda not pulls too hard then hits 3rd???? I think it has to do with the control solenoids???! anyways mine has 270000 k's on it with a ej20g with like 70000k's on it so yeah I gots no record this thing was beaten I think it's whole life!!!

Wow, I'm doing my HGs this weekend. The trans slips a bit shifting into 3rd, so I imagine some trans work is in the very near future as well.

mine does that too...should I get the fluid changed...I don't know if it's ever been done...
