lawl Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Nobody I've talked to knows why this is. I've taken it to the alignment place. the alignment is good, except the whole hub is out a little more than a quarter inch on the front passenger's side. that is the axle in which the axle seal was leaking (they replaced it). is it possible a wrx axle seal is different from the legacy one and they used the wrx, making it poke out more? another symptom of this whole thing is that the wheel doesnt sit flush against the rotor. when i put the wheel on the rotor, with no lugnuts it sort of wobbles. I could see this pushing the wheel out on one side but it seems as if the wheel is uniformly set away from the rotor all around.. i really have no idea what's going on here.. any clues/tips? car for sale. PM me!
Guest LGT-NY Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Maybe they accicentally gave you one rim with a lower offset? It's a long shot, but it's really the only thing that makes sense... You should take it off and measure the back spacing.
lawl Posted January 16, 2009 Author Posted January 16, 2009 every wheel i've put on is the same way. the distance between back of spokes and the rotor is the same all around that corner of the car, and teh same with all the other ones car for sale. PM me!
PeterJMC Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 another symptom of this whole thing is that the wheel doesnt sit flush against the rotor... Do you have the part number of the item they replaced? Have you tried taking a wheel from another corner and putting it on the problem corner? Does it exhibit the same problem? Have you looked at both the left and right assemblies without the wheels to visually compare the two sides?
JonLGT Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Make sure you dont have a hub centric ring stuck to your rotor, it has happened to me before.

PM me!
DrCloud Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 when i put the wheel on the rotor, with no lugnuts it sort of wobbles Sounds to me like JonLGT is on the right track. That wobbling should not be happening. HPH
Scooby Fan Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Make sure you dont have a hub centric ring stuck to your rotor, it has happened to me before. I had that too...I had Enkei's that used hub-centric rings...they stuck to the hub and had to be destroyed to get them off...almost impossible to see if you weren't looking for them...just another little bit of dirty stuff on the hub:(
