doctorbrody
Yep, it's an OEM part (made by Defi for Subaru). The pod is a $600 one-piece unit, so I wouldn't try and replace the boost gauge with a clock. As a better option, VDO gauges would fit in a cubbypod. doctorbrody
sikkk....total sleeper! Thanks, that's exactly what I'm going for. Planning on an AVO380/pump/injectors in the spring, but I still want it to look like a gold grocery getter.

Unreasonably expensive, but they do high quality custom work. Since there are no off-the-shelf turboback exhausts for the Outback XT, we're stuck paying big bucks to custom fabricators for a quality setup. Two high-flow cats from Random Tech keep it emissions legal-ish. The exhaust note is the deepest I've ever heard from a 4-banger.

FireB
Very Nice! Mike does a great job over there. If they had an aftermarket exhaust like that, I would have bought the Outback...haha
dryvby
hey bud, i just purchased an the 05 obxt gold like yours. does the uprated chargecooler allow use of the factory engine cover? does your under hood diverter plastics match up to the face of the topmount? how do i get my hands on the cubby gauges? my upgrade list will be similar to yours minus the custom exhaust work. your outback is my inspiration...nicely done! Thanks! I'll tell you right off the bat, though - a turbo-back exhaust is the foundation for a tuned subaru. At least get an upgraded downpipe! Also, the up-pipe in the 05-06 has a restrictive catalytic converter - it's worth deleting, and it won't make the car significantly louder. Conventional wisdom suggests that you should do exhaust mods before you think about upgrading the intercooler, turbo, etc. The AVO intercooler fits under the engine cover, but the cover requires some trimming. You'll see where it needs to be cut. If you don't have a sawz-all, try an orbital sander (and a dustmask). I believe that using the engine cover is crucial to maximizing the efficiency of the TMIC, and with the trimming, everything lines up perfectly well. The cubby gauges are a widely available subaru part. They list for $775, but with some shopping around I found them for $600. http://www.subarupartsmall.com/product_info.php?cPath=41_44&products_id=1745 If you need a right hand drive part, try a japanese vendor. Dollar for dollar, the best mod I did to the XT was the 20mm Whiteline rear swaybar. It's a night-and-day handling difference. Good luck!

DuckFan
I love the fact the Outback looks stock. Here in Portland (home of PDX Tuning) I see to many tricked out Subaru's that look fast. Never would one guess there sits a XT that people think has no venom....wrong.
