fuzzydd
I've removed the C-clip and it just won't come out! I'm at a loss as to why, it should just slide out shouldn't it? I'm tugging on it with my full body weight but no dice
PeterJMC
Did you also unbolt it from the linkage? Try using a screw driver and slide it around the outer edge of the plastic to try and feel if it's hanging on anything.
fuzzydd
It's unbolted and moving freely around The plastic's pretty snug against the walls, can't really jam anything in there
PeterJMC
And the clip is completely removed and is sitting somewhere else other than inside the hole? The only thing I can think of is that the clip is still in place. Is the plastic and ball nicely lubed up with grease?
fuzzydd
Yup and yup I'm trying to push down on it now and pry it out
Underdog
Even with the clip removed it can be a VERY tight fit. Sometimes the oring holding the plastic cage onto the ball of the shift rod gets jammed up and makes it even tighter. The Crimson Dynamo

fuzzydd
Fixed! I extended the shifter all the way out, put a rag down and just kept pumping it until it finally popped out Thanks for the help! I just find it's sort of strange, I took the shifter out not even 2 months ago to lube it up and it didnt' take anywhere near this much effort
