__raj
Hi I went in for a $30 dealer oil change and got an estimate/opinion that my rear trailing arm bushings are separating at 55k miles. One apparently has popped out a bit. They explained new england salt eats them? The estimate is $500+ from the dealer to replace both. How do I look at them myself? Where are they located, does anyone have a diagram showing where they are?
Underdog
http://img361.imageshack.us/img361/2446/rearsuspensionservicemaru2.jpg Trailing Arm is item 11, bushing is item 13. The reason the price is high is the labor. You have to remove the trailing arm to press in new bushings, which is an involved process. When I put in the spec.B aluminum trailing arms, the labor was roughly that ($500). The Crimson Dynamo
__raj
Thanks a lot!!. I tried peeking and it looks like car needs to be on lift. One side feel like it moved but cannot verify that really without visual of it. I have absolutely no noticeable symptoms of a problem but I am secondary driver of the car. ronzo_the_great
underdog, you said you put spec B trailing arms on your lgt. is that a noticeable upgrade?
whitetiger
it would only be noticeable at the bleeding edge of track performance due to the reduction of unsprung weight. a very small part of a much larger setup including all other suspension components. its more of a bling thing on a daily driver.
